Bluestone Lane Long Beach Coffee Shop

This charming Australian-inspired coffee shop is located in the lobby of the Westin hotel. They have a La Marzocco espresso machine and serve scrumptious pastries. You can enjoy classic drinks from Down Under like the long black and flat white. It's definitely a third wave coffee experience. My caffeine fix just kicked in—time to take off!

I drove 30 minutes to try the promised Australian coffee, so my expectations were high after spending three weeks in California tasting some pretty awful coffee! I ordered a Magic, and while the temperature was spot on, the coffee was quite bitter. The staff were friendly, but the service was a bit slow—maybe I just picked the wrong day to visit. On a positive note, I loved that toast with jam or Vegemite is available on the menu!

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The lady at the register charged me twice for a latte. I reached out to the manager, who assured me that the issue would be resolved, but a week has passed, and the double charge is still not refunded. Despite several attempts to contact the manager, she has been impossible to reach. I left multiple messages, but she never returned my calls. As a result, I had to dispute the transaction with my bank. Overall, the customer service was lacking, and I found the coffee to be overly priced.

I ordered a salmon toast and an Aussie Latte. I waited for 20 minutes and the non- enthusiastic Caucasian lady who took my order asks me what I was waiting for. Mind you, you were the one who took my order at the register, lady! I repeated my order to her and she said oh the order never came through. Whatever that means. I paid, I have the receipt. What do you mean? Anyhow, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to make my order. This was my second visit and I should have learned from my first that the service wasn 't that great yesterday either. It took her 15 minutes to make my coffee drink. Not coming back here again.
