Terrace Tavern - Long Beach

Cannot believe how awful the manager is !! used to be one of my favorite places, but horrible people run the place if I were you don’t waste your time or your money this place sucks!!! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

On the positive side, the service was excellent. Both the host and the waitress were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was what you’d typically find in a busy local bar, which is disappointing given the restaurant's identity crisis. Although it promotes itself as a "Restaurant and Bar" on the website, it genuinely operates more like a bar. Seating is cramped, and the place gets very crowded. Even if you’re seated away from the bar area, they crank up the music to concert-like levels right in the middle of your meal. I’m honestly baffled as to why people rave about the Terrible Tavern; it seems like patrons must be so inebriated that even standard bar food tastes gourmet to them. What a fantastic little place! It features a spacious and lovely bar, along with a wonderful outdoor dining area. I highly recommend the Red Hot and Blue Egg Rolls, the Jersey Special, and the Miami Vice!

Elote was salty and had an odd seasoning. Never tasted this kind of elote before. Def not authentic. Loaded fries with clam chowder was spicy. Soggy. And not anything what we expected. Steak bites weren't bad. Unfortunately we won't be back.

The food was decent, but it was definitely overpriced for what you receive. The atmosphere resembles that of a dive bar, yet the prices are at a four-star level. The staff was average—neither particularly friendly nor rude.
