L.a. Gourmet - Long Island City

LA Gourmet is back on my A list for lunch as they take additional interest in providing good food to fast delivery times. I recommend the Corn Muffin roasted with butter for breakfast and the Chicken Cutlet Panini or the Grandma pie for lunch. Simply ask for an updated menu as prices have changed slightly.

This restaurant can be a bit inconsistent, but 8 out of 10 times, you'll have a great experience. If you go around 11 AM to 1 PM, expect it to be quite crowded and bustling. The food is served hot and fresh, and I noticed no flies buzzing around. After 4 PM, items from the hot salad bar are offered at a 50% discount off the regular price per pound. While the food and coffee are decent, the selection lacks diversity, with similar options available most days and a shortage of vegetarian dishes. However, the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly, though they can feel overwhelmed during busy hours.

This restaurant offers decent, quick food options. The pizza selection is quite good, with large slices and a variety of combos. They also toast and butter muffins for you in the main area, which is a nice touch. The ice cream is pretty enjoyable as well. It's a convenient location if you're traveling to or from the Court Square subway station.
