Asakuma Sushi - Los Angeles

Steak teriyaki was great quality meat and the miso was amazing! the salad and rice were just ok

The Chicken Breast Teriyaki Entree was extemely dry. Some pieces were unchewable because of how dry and chewy it was. Ive ordered this a few times and this is the second time the chicken was dry so I will not be ordering this again. It did not taste fresh, but like it was cooked hours ago and left in an oven/warmer. Its a shame because the teriyaki sauce is actually good.

The good:There are so many sushi options in LA but I chose the 1st one that popped up on my Doordash list when I typed sushi. I wasn't disappointed! I had a shrimp tempura crunch roll, edamame and a soft shell crab roll. I also tried the dragon roll (eel) and pickled radish roll. I liked how many options I had for non-raw fish rolls (I'm pregnant so I am avoiding raw fish but cannot get myself to avoid sushi altogether because I have such a craving for it). The rolls were huge! I normally can finish 2 rolls but I was only able to finish 1.5 here. Everything tasted great and was nicely presented. The specialty rolls didn't fall apart and weren't overly doused in sauces. I felt so full after my meal here.The bad:I think the rolls could use slightly less rice. I think this was partly why I got full faster. My least favorite was the pickled radish roll because it was pretty strong.The interesting:They're only opened during the evenings on weekends.

The spicy tuna here is phenomenal! I'm a sushi lover to the core and this place has not let me down yet. From the rolls to the poke bowls and not too mention the yummy miso soup. I order from here at least once a week. Can't wait for my next fix!

This is my Go-To poke spot. They have the best price for what you're getting. They do not skimp out on the fish like many other poke places in this area. I haven't had sushi but I love their build your own poke bowl. They are fast to make them also. It truly is my favorite place. I will always come back.
