This place is absolutely incredible. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was all soooo delicious. The shrimp and grits are an absolute must, along with the soul food egg rolls and oxtail tacos. You really cannot go wrong and there were a ton of gluten free options. The chef was there and she was so kind to come out and greet our table. She has done a phenomenal job imbuing the the core of what Soul Food is into her food and the restaurant. Part of me wants to keep this place to myself bc in a few months it might be hard to get a table it’s that good. I will be back.
Great food that's delicious and comforting. The dishes were a tiny bit over-seasoned. Tasted really good but after half way through, they were a bit heavy. But I still really enjoyed my meal. Seafood gumbo came with lots of seafood and was super flavorful. Fried catfish was pretty good as well. My favorite was definitely the shrimp and grits. So creamy and cheesy. Both crack cake and strawberry cake were interesting. Can't wait to try more.
Great food, great atmosphere, and overall a good experience. I got the plantain tacos. My friend got the catfish tacos. Overall, 10 out of 10 on the food and service.I love that how when people walk through the door, the staff behind the counter yelled out welcome. The strawberry cake.. Hella good. Definitely you want to buy this.
Such great service and amazing food. Found this place randomly on Yelp and now I'm hooked. Deserts are to die for, I meant diet for. : Small but cozy vibes makes the comfort food taste better. P.S. j shrimp tacos are pretty spicy! Try the cobbler. Try the cake. Try everything you can fit in your belly. My cake was good 3 days later, not mad at all!
