Bidra med feedbackSome of the best hotdogs I’ve tried. Very cool place with a relaxed vibe, and a great selection of wine! Bar men were engaging and very friendly. Will return
Not the best day 's weather to discover Ascot (thanks, Wellington). The room is quite spartan, so a cold, wet, day didn 't show the best of this New York loft style, 'dive ' lounge. Highly recommend for a visit though. The pisco sours were lush, and will definitely be back, especially when the weather cheers up.
Wow. Came in to this venue tonight after it being recommended to us by a friend who works at a reputable cocktail lounge in the city. I Have been in hospitality management for 10 years plus this does not come from a person with no experience in the industry and no understanding of the stresses involved in working in a bar. The female with short hair working behind the bar tonight was not only blatantly rude to me and my friend for next to no reason but she was incredibly judgemental and honestly not even a 114 km gust have wind could have turned this persons frown upside down. What an absolute let down caused by one person. we were visiting from out of town and heard this was a chilled spot with good vibes which seemed to be correct apart from one person dragging the whole place down and in turn making our visit an incredibly negative experience. As a hospitality worker your attitude reflects on the business, Somebody might want to remind her of this.
The hot dogs were fairly priced and were fairly good. It's just a shame that it came with disinterested, rude and dismissive staff. I understand not liking a job but that shouldn't be painted on your face when you talk to a customer. Better bars, skip this one. Go to Night Flower which is one floor down that's definitely worth it.
We were intrigued by their carrot dogs, which we mistakenly thought were plant-based hot dogs. In reality, they featured an entire carrot, and surprisingly, it worked! The texture and flavor of the carrot were truly amazing. The buns were soft and warm, and the toppings were perfectly balanced—neither overwhelming nor lacking. Everything was delicious, and our cold red wine paired wonderfully with our meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, with just the right level of music to set the mood. If I lived in Wellington, this would definitely be my go-to spot. Highly recommended!
