Restoration Bistro - Lufkin

Going in, the atmosphere was crisp and inviting. Greeting at the door was less then. How many? Sit wherever you like. The pictures and preconceived notion was definitely not delivered. While the waitstaff was kind, they were not in tune to theestablishment. They lacked knowledge of the menu and personality. The food was excellent. We had basic American plates, sojudging was simple. What did stick out, like sore thumb, was the treatment one table received. It looked as though some specialfolks showed up and received special treatment. Rather simple special treatment I must say. Hey, what 's up? What can I getyou . But they were hosted by, what I can only assume is the owner. Or, at the very least, the manager. Nonetheless, the rest ofthe restaurant was not on their level. Mehh, I 'm nobody special, and don 't need to be treated as such but hospitality is part ofthe dining out experience. And the highest level of that hospitality was only bestowed upon one table at thisestablishment. Even without that experience, the whole place was lots of look, not much delivery. Would I go again? Sure. Butdefinitely know what I 'm getting..

The food was excellent. Best fried green tomatoes I've ever eaten. Our waitress did a great job with our older, particular crowd. We ordered a variety of items from appetizers to desserts and everything was enjoyed. I must say I was pleasantlysurprised to find such a jewel and can't wait to go back.

I really enjoyed the laid-back yet upscale vibe of this restaurant. It was busy during lunchtime, but not overly crowded. I appreciated that they use breads from Real Time, a fantastic sourdough bakery located nearby. Our server was friendly and accommodating, even though my companion and I stayed for hours chatting and laughing.

I have been visiting this incredible restaurant for many years. I've always enjoyed the ambiance and delicious food. However, I have noticed a significant decline in the service quality over the past year. It seems that unless you are acquainted with the servers or manager, you can expect to be ignored. On multiple occasions, I have had to approach the bar for refills because the waitress repeatedly served tables and walked right past us. Sadly, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I stumbled upon this restaurant and it was a great discovery! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. The bartender suggested a fantastic wine that perfectly matched my taste, and also recommended some delicious food options. The crab cakes were excellent - rich and perfectly cooked. The homemade ice cream and cake were incredibly tasty as well. I will definitely be returning next time I am in Lufkin.
