Express Diner - Lumberton

This restaurant offers the best falafel sandwiches I've ever had. Their chicken over rice is also delicious, and even the American dishes are top-notch. The burgers are fantastic, and the Philly cheesesteaks are incredible. I really love this place, and their fries are amazing too!

I tried the hot dog combo with lemonade. The hot dogs were just mediocre—bright red, but definitely not Jesse Jones quality. However, the lemonade was consistently good! As for parking, it's quite limited since it's primarily a drive-thru. It can be a bit tricky, but I manage fine with my full-size SUV. It’s a convenient stop, not really a place to linger.

I typically order two footlongs, a double bacon cheeseburger, and a cheeseburger, which usually comes out to just over $18. Today, I decided to try two footlong combos that include fries and tea, advertised at $5.49 each, along with two cheeseburgers. However, my total ended up being $20, which surprised me since I expected it to be around $16, especially considering the price for the burgers was marked at $2.89 each. I doubt the tax could account for an extra $3-4. Additionally, the wait time in the drive-thru was incredibly long. This restaurant used to be a real treat, but ever since the owner handed over the reins to his daughter, the quality has declined for me. Save yourself the hassle and go to Cookout for a $5 tray instead; you can even add chili and slaw and still spend less than you would here.
