Worst experience in all my life. Made a reservation. Requested outside that only had 2 tables with people. Our request was denied. Inside had 8-10 open tables and they sat us next to the very noisy bar area. Couldn't even hear my husband talk. Asked to be moved and they and they said they would look into it. Started to walk out and a manager tried to stop us but wouldn't seat us outside. For their prices, we were treated terribly and should have been treated like royalty. Ate at Kingston Kitchen at the Village Inn. Had an amazing meal and service was awesome.
Beautiful meal. My dad and brother orders the duck potstickers to start while my mom and I ordered the seasonal salad which was a brie and micro-greens salad with a cherry vinaigrette and pistachios (delicious, flavors balanced very well and I plan to recreate this at home). My brother and I shared the pork chop entree and one of the seafood specials (which was served with a lobster tail, lobster cake, and a flaky white fish in a roasted pepper sauce). Both dishes were exquisite and was a great portion size, we were happy that we chose to split so we could try both! My dad insisted on ordering dessert and chose the almond cake which was an almond sponge cake layered with mascarpone, the hint of citrus made for a delightful end to a meal. Our server was also very knowledgeable and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night.
Last minute we made a reservation on Open Table for 7:30. The service was fantastic although we found it odd that there were two wait staff for us. We honestly weren't sure who had the lead. As for dinner, the food was fantastic. I enjoyed the corn chowder, husband had whiting cakes (2 very small cakes that could've been 3) but he enjoyed them. The problem was the kitchen was sending the food out quicker than we were done with the previous plate. As soon as our apps were done and plates cleared, our salads were presented. Before our salads were done, our main entrees were being served. I was done eating what I wanted of my salad but my husband was still eating and the wait staff didn't give it another thought, removed the cover to my pork chop and presented it to me. I felt that was slightly rude considering my husband wasn't done. And we ordered a bottle of wine during our apps, yet it didn't come until after we were served our main courses. Would we go back is the question? Let's point out again that the kitchen was not overwhelmed considering our ressie was 7:30 and when we left 1.25 hrs later, nearly all the tables were cleared out. That's right, we consumed 3 courses over an hour and a quarter. Too much too fast! We'd probably not go back although the food was very good. No one enjoys being rushed through their meal.
