Dixie Saloon - Mackinaw City

Our family of four came here for lunch due to the location, reviews and history. We had all day breakfast pancakes with sausage which my daughter loved, a chicken walnut cranberry salad, hamburger with fries and bbq pork sandwich with onion rings. It wasall very good. the fries and onion rings specifically were really good! Service was VERY friendly but just a touch slow. Ittook a very long time to pay and leave.

Sat outside and waited 10 minutes to have our order taken. We ordered the chicken cranberry salad. The wait was long and it didn?t seem too busy. The salad finally showed up and it was terrible. Menu specified ?mixed greens? but it was just romaineand iceberg. They were out of blue cheese and feta cheese. The chicken is not real chicken. Frozen, barely reheated, fakechicken that comes in a plastic bag. Not great, 1 star overall, food and service

I loved the place. great service, great food, great prices very satisfied with this restaurant.

Worst experience I 've ever had at a restaurant. We got our food i had got a chicken wrap. Service was fast and the waitress was awesome THE MANAGER however was THE WORST I 've ever seen. THE wrap came and looked amazing i was excited to eat it i took a bite into it and the chicken was CHEAP and DISGUSTING i bit it and it was rubber like,every bite was like I was chewing rubber i couldnt even swallow it, so I spit it out and picked the rest of the chicken off but because I was so hungry and hadn 't ate all day I ate half of the wrap with JUST cheese,lettuce and tomato and it was not good or filling to eat a lettuce and tomato wrap. I asked the waitress if she would get the manger very politely so she did. When the manager came over he asked what was wrong. I explained that I was on vacation and had never ate there before and I did not like the chicken on the wrap that it was very rubbery and thick and I couldn 't even eat it. He told me it looked fine to him and left the table. Confused, I asked the waitress to bring him back out and again I re explained that I did not like the food and I would not be eating it if he could please take it off my bill. He responded with thats how me make them, it looks fine to me uhhhhh? I didn 't eat the food why would I pay for it? And then he replies that it looks like your full to me !!!!!! After a half of a tortilla shell with lettuce and tomato IM FULL and what exactly am I supposed to look like when I 'm full? I 'm a overweight person I don 't know if thats the sting he was insinuating buuut??? He refused to take it off my bill because it looked fine to him,I never ate it. He walked away and stood back and watched me argue with the waitress ,laughing!!We had also spent $70 on other food that we were more than happy to pay for because it was edible! I will never suggest this place to anyone or ever be back. I just wanted a fun night on my vacation having some food and drinks and it turned into a whole deal over $10!!! Absolutely disgusting.

Ribs were tough and fatty and nearly inedible. I took a couple of bites and had to stop due to an upset stomach. The chips were stale for the spinach dip. My wife’s chicken wrap was mostly lettuce and tomato and something was wrong with the chicken. She took about two bites and that was it. Our waitress was very apologetic and tried to remedy the situation but the manager was very cowardly in how he handled the situation. He would not even come up with the adjusted bill price that took a minimal amount off even though nearly everything went uneaten. I have never sent food back at a restaurant so this was a first. Just warning any potential diners considering this place, save your money and look for another option
