Muramoto Downtown - Madison

Exceptional every time! I consider myself a tough critic, yet I couldn’t find even the slightest fault with the food. I’ve had a few disappointing experiences at other places, but this restaurant has consistently impressed me. There was a minor delay once, waiting for 10 minutes without a drink, but that’s not the norm. The service can vary, as not every server is the same. Overall, the food is an A, the atmosphere is an A, the friendliness is an A, and the overall service is a B, leading to a total experience of an A. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in all of Madison!

This place has the best banh mi in town, although it's not a traditional version. The flavors are incredibly rich and aromatic, making it hard to resist. They offer an excellent lunch menu, but only on weekdays. Additionally, their sushi rolls are quite creative, with some featuring local twists.

Muramoto is an excellent place to get sushi and Japanese small plates. I highly recommend getting the Tempura King's Cream with muffled bear sauce when available. All I've ever had is fantastic. I have a black cod that is a highlight. They have an amazing dessert that is a strawberry spring roll and ginger ice cream. All their cocktails are good and they have a wide selection of wine. The restaurant is in a great location and the staff is attentive and delightful. I used to do and everything you can eat Sushi Night, which was very fun and tested the limits of our stomach. I don't think they do that anymore. I know they also opened a location in Hilldale, which I didn't think it was as good as downtown.

1 week living in a new city, and I'm so glad I stumbled across this place! The sushi is outstanding some of the freshest fish I have had in Wisconsin. They have a large sushi menu, prices are standard and the rolls are HUGE. Between my girlfriend and I we typically eat 4 rolls. Here, was can barely finish 3! If you are gluten free, they do offer gluten free soy sauce! Inside decor is cute it's definitely an smaller more intimate place. Lots of reclaimed wood. Cute spot for a date or dinner with friends. HIGHLY recommend. Plus, it's in a great area of downtown Madison.
