Bidra med feedbackLuc Dinh Ky is a childhood spot of mine that I used to eat at more often than I do now. I recently decided to pay them a visit after work and was instantly transported back to my childhood. I recognize a few of the same ladies that are serving tables and it's just nice to see that they're still there working hard. It's still pretty busy at night since they close at midnight, but despite the busy dining room, I've still gotten my takeout order in a reasonable amount of time. My go to is the salmon with crispy rice of course. The sauce is magical and I'm sure pumped with MSG because I salivate just thinking about it. It's a great dish even with the price increase. The prices have surely increased but I'd say that it's still worth it. You even still get free nuoc mat! It's such a refreshing drink so I'll have to buy one of the big bottles to chug at home... I recently decided to try the bo luc lac for the first time and it was just okay. I like that it's just beef and onions, but wasn't all that enthused by their version of the sauce. I'll just stick to the salmon : Overall, I'm glad to still be able to enjoy a childhood classic restaurant of mine. I was also surprised to learn that i was able to pay with card! Definitely a lot more convenient since I don't always have cash on me.
I haven't been here for awhile, but it has changed since my last review. Food wasn't as good and quantity definitely lower with prices being higher. Maybe the time I went was a difference and the fact I ordered for pickup instead of eating in.
I love this place! They sometimes get busy but it's worth the wait! The salmon is so good. I eat here all the time!
My dad has been a Luc Dinh Ky stan since their first location. We have weekly lunches and dinners together, and this was our recent pick since I haven't been in awhile. So long that apparently they don't offer refills on nuoc mat anymore, which was such a bummer! Had I known, I would've savored each sip a little longer, heh. My dad ordered com nuong bo luc lac (grilled rice with shaken beef) and I got my usual, com nuong ca hoi (grilled rice with salmon). I'm a lover of bo luc lac, I really am.. but the dish served here is way too salty for my taste buds. I guess you could say the same for the sauce paired with my salmon dish, but at least I'm in control of the proportions. They seem to have reduced their restaurant hours of operations due to the panny d, so it looks like no more late night dining here. Still a fun quick bite spot to eat with friends, though!
Despite COVID and inflation, LDK still provides the same taste, ingredients and portions over the years. I know places that have increased prices, cut back portions and switched to lower quality ingredients. LDK will always be my go-to if I need to find a quick place to eat or grab to-go.
