Bidra med feedbackGreat location in Upton, by the river. The baklava-style cakes were absolutely delicious. The service and ambiance were very good. They also have a selection of second-hand books for sale, which is another great reason to visit.
I went to the restaurant alone for lunch. The young man and woman working behind the counter were polite and efficient. I ordered the soup of the day and a separate toasted cheese and ham sandwich to be served after I finished my soup. I paid a total of £15 for both items. The soup arrived with only a small amount of bread that was unevenly buttered and dry in some spots, but it was still okay. The toasted sandwich arrived later as promised and was brought to my table by a woman who seemed to be the owner. She placed the plate in front of me without saying anything or acknowledging me. It was clear she was busy with some teenagers who were also eating. A simple greeting would have been nice. Nobody asked me how my food was, but if they had, I would have mentioned that the portion was small, the toast was barely warm, and the melted cheese was cold, despite ordering it to be served after the soup. The food was expensive and of poor quality. My tip would be to pay attention to your customers and acknowledge them. I'm giving a rating of two stars because the young employees behind the counter were great examples of good service.
I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered the poached eggs and avocado, along with a delicious latte. The staff was very efficient and friendly.
Lovely light cafe, elegantly adapted from the old bank we knew. Good (i.e strong enough! coffee and snacks, pleasant service. Bookshop, with comfy seats while browsing was a nice plus excellent range of History especially, and books in good condition. Hope Henry's does well it's a good addition to Upton, where we were sad to see so many empty shops.
Nice friendly place with excellent coffee and teas, nice atmosphere as well with the books and antiques etc.
