This is what an NJ Diner/Restaurant should aspire to be. Not only does Gus's Diner serve delicious food with quality ingredients every visit. The staff is professional and genuinely polite and friendly. Love the Club Sandwiches! Pretty disappointed with this place after reading all the reviews. The food was extremely bland. Burger had no seasoning. Western omelet no flavor. Ordered the beef goulash from the Monday specials and it was horrible. Nothing like a proper beef goulash. No sauce, no carrots, just boiled beef and noodles. Waitress was off her game. Never refilled my coffee. Never provided table with waters. Asked for napkins 3 times and never received. She kept forgetting sides, so she ended up having to pack them to go when we asked for them. Also charged us for a refill of a lemonade should 've told us that it would be an additional charge). Bill ended up being $100. Definitely not worth the price. This is probably the best overall diner in Jersey. It is through all activities at any time when the diner is open. Great management, great staff, great service and a delicious menu.
