Toku Modern Asian - MANHASSET

Overall, my visit was excellent, but there was a bit of a hiccup with the timing. Although I had a reservation for 8:30 and checked in at 8:32, I didn't get seated until 9:15.

Food was excellent and on par! Drinks were delicious as well

It was our first time to dine here. Would have helped if the name of the restaurant were visible from the outside. Prices are on the high side. Favorite dish: lamb chops. My husband had the sesame crusted tuna which was delicious. Tarte tatin was excellent!

As soon as we sat down, we were immediately asked what drinks we wanted, even though we hadn’t had a chance to look at the menu yet. We requested a few minutes to decide. Just two minutes later, the waitress returned with the same question. When we finally gave our drink orders, the waitress seemed dismissive when we asked about options, insisting there were two choices when it was clear there was only one. After we managed to place our order, the rest of the experience felt rushed and uncomfortable, as if the staff was constantly hurried and annoyed. The way the busboys and the servers cleared items off our table was quite abrupt; at one point, as I was still finishing my drink, a busboy snatched my glass away without asking, and when I requested it back, he seemed irritated. The atmosphere felt tense and unwelcoming, and I sincerely hope the staff can work on their attitudes. It’s a shame, as I have had such lovely experiences in the past.

Toku was fantastic! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very stylish! The calamari appetizer and passion martini exceeded our expectations!
