The park is beautiful, but they rely too heavily on online reservations which can be difficult to navigate. Additionally, visitors are required to purchase a parking sticker which, along with processing fees and website fees, can make state parks significantly more expensive than private parks.
The Indian Sea State Park is a fantastic location situated at the southern tip of the upper half of the island. The park is immaculately maintained, with clean facilities and helpful staff. The highlight of the park is the stunning view of the Indian Lake, just a few feet away. While the rest of the upper half of the island may not be ideal for cycling, this park stands out as a great exception. It is a perfect spot to explore the northern region of Michigan.
Beautiful campsites. You can shower if you're not a camper. it costs only $5 per person. my 3 star review is for the showers and toilets the water does not spray well from the shower. there are cracks in the tile where water looked. it looks like a patch repair where water still leaves. that was also a problem about the toilets.
Love Indian Lake, been going for years. Staff not as friendly as usual, but they are probably short staffed like everyone else. I have noticed at a lot of the parks that older employees are doing most of the cleanup and grass cutting etc while the younger staff are riding around in the carts.
