Bidra med feedbackMy food was awful. I was expecting to provide at least a good rating based on the exposure of the restaurant. Our waitress didn't ask why so much food was left on the plate, 75% returned. Wanted us to move on. Unfortunate as we live in the area most of the year.
You can not beat the setting of this locally owned restaurant and brew pub. The waterfront area of Manteo is beautiful. Where else can you grab a bite to eat and see a lighthouse, less than a quarter mile away. Enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk before or after your meal and stop at the waterfront playground to let the kids use up some energy. The outside of the restaurant has a patio that reminds me of European cafes, big umbrellas, lots of flowers and plants. Good food, good service. This restaurant is a destination in itself.
Good burger and beer joint with some good specialties as well. Go for the hummus plate for sure. The pita is nicely fried for a great warm crisp. My other advice is be about bold when looking for a table. If you see the hostess going in and out or talking to a waiting group let her know you are also waiting. It can get confusing at the outdoor reception area. If that fails take a table and call a waiter over.
Food was fine. A bit overpriced for pub food. Great home made broccoli cheese soup. Husband enjoyed his burger, steak quesadilla wasn't terrific-steak was tender but the flavors didn't quite come together.
Stopped in for a beer and appetizers between lunch and dinner. Place was dirty, we sat down w floor covered in last party's food. Hummus plate w cucumbers came w 4 tiny bits of cucumber garnish and fried pitas. Nachos were sparsely covered. Less than 1/2 had cheese on it. Server supplied us with baked pita pieces and a few more cucumber slices upon request. Beer was good but $8.50 for a flight of 4 seems about $2 too much.
