Bidra med feedbackGreat little place! Wine is not real bold. In my opinion the Pinots were a little light. The red was really good, but $68 is a little steep for a blend. Great cheese and meat boards. Both ladies that were working were very nice and knowledgeable.
The menu has a good selection of Oregon wines and local beers. The food selections are perfect to match a wine tasting. Service was very good on a busy Saturday afternoon. Being that it's a dog-freindly place, you might want to skip if that bothers you.
A dog friendly, kid friendly patio this close to the beach is a godsend...and the wine ain't too bad, either! Our party stopped in for a glass or two of chardonnay, a sparkling blanc, the charcuterie and salami board, truffle pecorino romano popcorn, and the hummus with pita bread. Getting seated was a bit of a chore, as the hostess seemed a bit befuddled and overwhelmed, and bussing tables seemed to take an interminable amount of time, but we were eventually seated within a half hour. Beverages arrives in mere minutes, with our snacks hot on their heels, a few minutes later. The popcorn and hummus were ravenously devoured by the kids; the former was incredible, and had people basically licking the bowl afterward, while the latter was decent, but not incredible (I make a better hummus at home). Meanwhile, my wife and I pecked away at the charcuterie, while sipping our wines. I could do with less nuts and berries on a board, and more cheese and salami; and brie is quickly becoming a least-favorite of mine; but the rest of the board was tasty, if a little overpriced for the quantity. Both beverages were quality vintages, each suiting our individual tastes, and only slightly overpriced. Location is excellent, particularly on a warm, sunny day, and its proximity to the sea, with a fresh oncoming ocean breeze, is worth its weight in gold. There may be other, more intimate, upscale places in Manzanita, but for the casual connoisseur (particularly those with children, furry or otherwise), The Winery fills a much needed niche for those who need a quick wine buzz to drown out all the chaos of traveling with family and/or pets.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Winery in Manzanita. Great wines, great food, and and even better service. We have walked by a few times and finally stopped to check it outso glad we did. We will be back!
Great atmosphere with open space lots of wood leading out to patio with comfy chairs and fire pits. They have blankets available for chillier nights. The service was friendly and very knowledgeable about the different wines and ways to drink them i.e. full glass, tasting flights, samplers. The house Chardonnay was very good. Nice and dry easy to drink. The pricing was very fair for local wine plus great setting. Definitely worth a stop. We are going back today!! Oh if you have a dog perfect spot to bring one! Pinot the black lab is the winery mascot and you may find him hanging on the deck greeting patrons!
