Lafayette - Marietta

The potato skins were large and delicious, topped just right. My salad was incredibly fresh, packed with walnuts, dried cranberries, and sliced apples, all drizzled with a tasty pomegranate dressing, though I could have used a bit more goat cheese. The fried cod was excellent, and the French fries were a delightful surprise—cut in a unique style that resembled a cross between spiral and steak fries—thick and perfectly cooked. Despite being a bit short-staffed, the service was impressive, and the ambiance of the elegant, historic hotel was lovely, highlighted by a beautifully carved three-sided bar that anchors the room. We enjoyed a lovely view of the Ohio River from our table. The prices were very reasonable, and we would definitely choose to dine here again.

I really enjoyed staying at this historic (and haunted!) hotel! Our room was clean, and housekeeping came every day. However, since there were three of us in the King Parlor room, I had to visit the front desk daily to request an extra set of towels. The space was ample for three people. I slept on the sofa bed, but the mattress was quite thin. I requested a rollaway bed and placed that mattress on top of the sofa bed, which made it much more comfortable! We had breakfast each morning in the Gun Room, where the food was excellent, and the staff was friendly. One of the best-kept secrets is definitely the rooftop!

Extremely unaccommodating for individuals with disabilities! While they upgraded my non-disabled daughter's room, they refused to do the same for us, even after charging me for a small room instead of what I had originally reserved. They showed no concern for the fact that I use a walker. **I highly advise against visiting this place if you have a disability!**

Musty, dirty, cavelike. The breakfast would have been ok if they hadn't included the onions that I asked to be left out. Front desk was nice in the morning but dismissive in the evening.

Excellent hamburgers cooked to order. Excellent service. Clean, traditional hotel bar setting.
