Amazing food- must try!!! Will definitely be back. Love the vibe! Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$10–20
I say the food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant itself is beautiful! Unfortunately, I would approach caution if you have a food restriction. Many products are gluten-free, so I said was gluten-free and asked what makes the fried chicken sandwich gluten-free. Our waitress, who was a co-owner, explained that the chicken was coated in a gluten-free flour mix and served on a gluten-free bungalow. I said great, I will. The bungalow ended so delicious that at the end of the meal, after eating the whole thing, we asked the owner to check whether it was really gluten-free and when it was where it was. She came back and apologized and said there was a mistake and I had been served a normal bungalow. It was disappointing to say the least. I'm happy not to have a celiac/an extreme reaction to gluten, but it still did for an unpleasant experience the next day. They were very apologetic and I understand that accidents happen. I would probably go back, but I would be extra careful and confirm that what I'm serving is gluten-free.
I and my husband stayed on the way to Tobermory and found this amazing restaurant. The owner himself came to check-in when we needed something. Her husband (the main cook) came to serve us. Not to forget the manager Kendal, she made our visit unforgettable and was a super host! The ambience, decor and overall experience were much better than any other restaurant
I went there with my wife and son. Pros Atmosphere was beautiful and open. Host and waitress were polite and friendly. My son had the steak frites, and both my wife and I rehearse and it was a good taste and had good texture. My wife had the rice pudding and it was warm and delicious. It was a little Pricy at $12-14. Cons Food took 30-40 minutes from the order to the time it was served. Not sure what the holdup was, but none of the dishes are that time-consuming to prepare. Is there a delay in heating the grill? My wife ordered the sole. The taste was good, BUT this was one of the greasiest fish ducks I ever tasted. It was hardly warm when it arrived. The only one was not supposed to add this amount of oil. Definitely not a do over come at $48. I ordered the mustache (seasoned burgers without rolls). The truffles were applied with a heavy hand. Again, not a Do over come at $47. My desert was meerrot cheesecake. The berries were excessively drunk. The searing was made with a burnt taste. Not by. I'm a cheesecake lover, so this is unusual. Funny is that the boss (owner) made the rounds, to ALL the other tables, but not to our table. That was strange to say the least. More so where the time for the meal Prep was so delayed and the most important courses (daily specialties) were erroneous. I think he'd want a feedback. My wife took it as a sort of snubbing on the cook / owner part. For me it was just strange under the circumstances. Total impression. Would go for a drink, or for Steak Frites. I don't think so. In general, the staff was friendly, with the exception of the boss/owner. Desert, there are better places like the bakery in Flesherton. The prices are high, yes, it's on the tourist strip, but I didn't think the quality was there.
