Thai Royal - Matamata

After checking the reviews we realised the place can be hit and miss. Portion sizes were good compared to other Thai restaurants. The chicken was dry and not marinated. The fried rice was tasty but not outstanding. The spring rolls water tiny but there were a fair amount in a portion. In general a satisfying meal but we wouldn't make an effort to come back for it when there are quite a few other places to try out around here.

My wife and I decided to have a small dinning out night with our sister and brother inlaw . A great choice as it turned out as both the service and meal were excellent. We all had a great social family evening out. A nice comfortable licensed venue I have to say.

It was great as we were the only ones there the night we went. The lady who was on was lovely and friendly. The meals were divine even though we think she may have got our mild and medium's mixed up. It's good and would recommend the joint to anyone who enjoys Thai food.

Had lunch here. The waitress was very good. I had Butter chicken +rice. It was delicious. I thought it might be too spicy but it was a mild dish and I enjoyed it very much. Had orange juice. It came with ice in it which was great as the day was hot.

Delicious and authentic! Strongly recommend the Tom yum, and “sexy little duck”.
