A member of our party did not get their food until everyone else had finished eating and controls were delivered. He was rightly upset and felt that his bill should be reduced or composed. They didn't just apologize, they imposed the situation and said if he didn't pay, they would call the police, and then they... on a 70-year-old man... you're kidding me! A simple excuse for the terrible service and maybe a discount would have fixed the situation. I will go back to NIE... oh and the food was not good!
We had the sushi, absolutely amazing! Large portions, delicious, and quick service. Will definitely go back!
After receiving the menus, I went to the bar to request the sushi menu, as that’s what we were interested in. We placed our orders for food and drinks. While we waited, they provided free salad and miso soup, which was a nice touch. Our sushi came out shortly after, but many at our table who ordered from the Hibachi menu were still waiting for their meals over an hour later, even though we had already finished our sushi. This was surprising because sushi typically takes longer to prepare than Hibachi dishes. Eventually, I got the waiter's attention to ask for water refills and inquire about the delayed food. He checked with the kitchen and returned with water for everyone. When I mentioned that the Hibachi meals were ordered at the same time as our sushi, he seemed taken aback, saying the food was coming from another section of the restaurant. This was confusing since it is all one establishment. Additionally, our son’s Sprite was filled with water instead of soda, which indicated a lack of attention to detail. The waiter assured us that the food would be ready soon, but it took about 15 more minutes. When it finally arrived, it was hot and steaming, indicating it had just been cooked. However, the long wait and poor service were unacceptable. At one point, someone in our group asked about the check, and when the waiter came, they inquired whether they should pay for their meal, which had taken nearly two hours. The waiter reacted by threatening to call the police, claiming it was a "criminal" situation. He then proceeded to make the call while our party was still at the table. I stepped outside and said I would pay if that was how they treated customers. The police arrived, and we all settled our bills. When one member finally paid for their Fried Rice, they accidentally knocked the credit card compartment against the takeout box, causing it to fall on the counter. The waiter accused him of throwing it at him, which was not the case; the situation was simply clumsy. I asked for the owner's name, and the owner, who was present, never addressed the situation. The waiter informed us that the police were there to speak with us, and when the officer confirmed that we had paid, he wondered why the call was not canceled. In short, this restaurant has significant customer service issues. If they want to succeed in a competitive market, they need to improve how they treat customers and show appreciation for their business.
Avoid this place... You'll have a better experience staying at home and heating up some microwave ramen!
I had read some negative reviews, but I decided to give the place a chance and see for myself. I ordered the spring rolls and sushi, and both were absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and quick, especially for lunchtime. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised!
