QQ Restaurant - Meaford

This restaurant is strictly take out or delivery. They do have one or two tables but people use them mostly while waiting for their food. They have everything you could possibly desire! From traditional Chinese food all the way to Sushi! Their food is also MSG free. They give you very generous portions so you don't mind paying the prices. As we all know Chinese is one of the most expensive take out foods out there! I've lived up here for 19 years now and I've been searching for a good Chinese restaurant, and none have really even started to measure up to the restaurant I left behind when I moved. That restaurant set the bar pretty high so I was disappointed, a lot! QQ is relatively new to Meaford. Maybe open about 6 months or so, but people are talking about it! There's only 1 other Chinese restaurant in Meaford, but their restaurant is very badly maintained. Cigarette burns in the dirty beyond redmption table cloths and the food is like a minus 5 compared to this place. If they aren't careful they won't be in business for much longer!! If you like Asian food, try this as a picnic idea and take it to any one of the great places that make a pleasant picnic spot in our picturesque little town!

All summer I watched for this new place to open, hoping the food might be on a par with Tein Bo and other Chinese restaurants in Owen Sound nearby. Perhaps the Thai and Japanese food are better, but the Chinese dishes I sampled do not make the grade. The fried rice is yellow in colour and tastes different from any I make myself or have had in other places. The sesame chicken was the best dish I sampled. I am rating QQ as average because their service is good, but I can't recommend the food.

We tried QQ for the first time tonight and we're pleased with a very nominal delivery fee to Thornbury. My husband ordered C3 platter, and I order Almond Soo Guy. We shared some spare ribs and a gyoza to start. The steamed rice (short grain - yummy) rounded off our selections. Delivery was promised within 45 minutes and we loved that it was less 30. Soo Guy sauce was authentic and savoury, not the normal "gravy" you get. Spare ribs were huge! Gyoza was crisp and perfect...hubby's platter was a generous serving of all items, not the expected 2 or 3 chicken balls! Well done QQ. We'll recommend to friends, family and customers and we'll be back!

First time I ordered it I noticed that the rice had this weird funny texture. We thought we would try the a late lunch, early dinner and take advantage of the special which goes Mon- Sunday until 3pm. My husband had rice, egg roll, and chicken wings. He said the chicken wings were a weird colour and yes the meat was yellow but he said it tasted fine. I had rice egg roll and chicken balls. They are the best chicken balls I've ever had for chinese food. Batter is light and they are bite size. The rice too has a yellow look to it but tasted fine. Large portions, $14.50 for both lunches. Add side dish of chicken fried egg noodle for an extra $8.75. Prepared very quickly. I would probably order again and try something different. Very friendly staff
