Hometown Lanes - Mechanicville

They had very good lanes, but there felt pins a little hard, then other lanes, but they have good eating and drinks there

Today is Friday, August 27th, 2021. I had called Hometown Lanes yesterday, on the 26th, as per their website instructions. The person I spoke to assured me that they had lanes available and that we could just come in without making a reservation. Excitedly, I gathered my children and we arrived at the bowling alley, only to find out that they were closed for a private event. It was heartbreaking to see the disappointment on my children's faces as we had to leave. I mentioned to the staff that I had spoken to someone the day before who had told me we could come in, and they apologized, saying they were unaware of the event. It would have been helpful if they had informed customers of such events on their website or marked the facility as closed for private functions. We were looking forward to spending our evening bowling and were very disappointed by the turn of events.

This restaurant is a great spot if you're looking for a nice backdrop for your photos with plastic lanterns.

What an amazing place. Glad we went. I live in CP and we usually go to spare time bowling. However, they were booked and it was approximately an hour and a half wait for a lane. We googled the next closest bowling alley and hometown lanes came up. We called, they had availability. We went and it was a great experience. The young lady that checked us in also took our food and drink orders and cleaned tables and seemed to do everything. She was awesome and came back to check on us frequently to refill drinks etc etc. She was the only one working the floor it seemed. The place was pretty busy and she did a great job. Not sure what her name is . Very short boyish hair cut very slim and very personable. I will be visiting again and using this place as my first choice for bowling.

Absolutely enjoy a good family outing. Wonderful staff to make visits even better
