Bella Roma Restaurant - MEDOWIE

We are here once when it was still Bel Piatto and it was pretty good! Then it became Bella Roma and we thought we'd try it again. We were really disappointed. The pizza (prawn and avocado) was sloppy, greasy, contained about 5 or 6 prawn and the tiniest bits of avocado buried under the cheese. To be honest, the Domino's prawn pizzas are better presented. The schnitzel was ordered with vegetables, but came with chips (and a tiny, tiny amount at that- I think there was about 12 chips on the plate?) and a limp salad. We decided to give them one more go, just tonight, as they could have been having a bad night last time. So we ordered the same things. Again, the pizza was just a sloppy, greasy mess. Yet again, the schnitzel (after a reassurance that they did have vegetables and would serve them with the meal) came with a measly amount of chips and a salad that contained one olive, a string of red onion along with the usual limp greens. The schnitzel also tasted strongly of seafood, it was probably cooked along with it and the flavours transferred. We also ordered a lasagna this time too, and it was refused by both our children after about 3 bites. The food appears as though the chef is on rations, that the restaurant is trying to stick to a strict budget by including as little as ingredients as possible in every dish. It comes across as budget pub food, but even then I've had some great meals at pubs and this wasn't even close. We won't be returning and highly recommend you just go elsewhere for food.

A good, cheap and cheerful Italian restaurant. The pasta was good, the pizza is even better. Atmosphere can be very different depending which part of the place you get sat in. For the price, it's hard to be for value.

Took a friend out for her birthday. Was 8 of us and the service and food was great. It can get busy so be prepared to wait awhile for your dinner. Worth waiting for.

Service was good - food average. I find the dining area a little old too many tables looks and feel crowded and is noisy. No sweet wine

The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing! It all came out extremely hot and was served beautifully. For a small restaurant in Medowie, it proved to be of good service and quality. We will definitely be coming back again.
