Gaststätte Zum Löwen - Mehlingen

One of only two sit-down restaurants in the town. It actually offers a decent pizza, and a number of great German dishes, for a reasonable price. Friday nights are a bit crowded. Nice small-town bar. Definitely worth visiting if in the area.

Very dissatisfied with food. Unfortunately, it seemed to me that much came out of the pack. The original French onion soup seemed to be a broth cube with onions. You can see that a frantous onion soup is not a meat soup. Very unsatisfactory.

I like this place for a few reasons. One, I can walk there from where I live. Two, I can drink and walk home (I don't need to drive). Three, they have some awesome schnitzel. Four, they have a salad bar, so I could get the veggies I want (compared to those little bowl of salad full of things that I am either allergic to or don't want to eat). Five, they are open late on Sunday (though they are closed on Mondays). Six, price is decent, and I like the little free dessert I got one time.
