Hotel Alpbach - Meiringen

We ate all our breakfast and dinner here as it was included in out tour package. The breakfast was very substantial and varied, only a very light lunch, some fruit and coffee needed. Dinner was a different 3 course set menu each night, some nights it was difficult to finish dessert!

Terrific food and excellent service. We enjoyed our fondue and wine and we were served more than we could eat. Our server was very attentive which is unusual in Europe.

Traditional hotel in the centre of town. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Be warned, the nearby church bells ring all night every quarter hour, so if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs.

Wandering around Meiringen having just arrived after a long drive from Italy we were lucky to find this wonderful restaurant. As it was a very hot evening we sat outside and indulged in one of the most delicious cheese fondues we had all trip (and we had rather too many!).Friendly, cheerful and helpful Swiss-dressed waitresses made the visit even more enjoyable. Shame so many Swiss smoke ciggies outside though.
