Charlie Lovett South Wharf - Melbourne

Having been to Melbourne and the Southbank area a lot we had never been here before, a wonderful find, lovely service, terrific meals and amazing coffee. Will certainly be back next time we are in Melbourne.

My sister and I were desperately hungry during the Oz ComicCon event happening near by and we stumbled on this place. Firstly, let's start with how expensive this place was. The burgers were $15 and above and were not served with chips or any sides, those needed to be bought separately. Anyway, after we ordered at the counter and waited, and waited a waiter came over with the wrong drinks, when we told him they were not ours he looked around lost, asked a few people if they had ordered them, then just left them at our table and said someone might come and collect them. A lady from another table came over and said they were hers so she collected the drinks herself (basically she was not served). Then another waitress came over with the wrong burger and insisted they were for our table, but when we insisted they were not ours, she walked around for about five minutes asking around if they had ordered the food she carried. When our burgers finally did arrive, they were not good at all, I mean I would have had better burgers at Hungary Jacks or McDonalds and paid way less than what I did. While we were eating, we noticed a waitress carrying around food and asking people if they had ordered it, delivering it to the wrong table. During the same time, we also noticed the same waiter with the drinks earlier served another table some milkshakes. When the lady said she had order Iced Coffees and that they were given Chocolate ones, the waiter answered that they were "Mocha so they had coffee in them". Safe to say, never again with this place. Speaking as a local, there are way better places for food in Melbourne. Save your money.

This is our go to breakfast spot when we are in the city and this morning did not disappoint. Smashed avo with smoked salmon is to die for. Coffee is amazing and atmosphere is just the best, and so close to excellent shopping.

We went for breakfast and the porridge was hard and under cooked and was suppose to have raspberries on top but there were none..... They did cater for vegan which was probably the best meal of them all. The egg dishes were average. The best thing was sitting out in the sun.
