Bidra med feedbackWith reviews over 2 years old, I thought I would ignore the 2 stars there was a jump. Fun Fact ALWAYS TRUST YELP!! I had an anchor for dumplings, but with...
We ordered not to pour spoons on the tables to enjoy the soup in the emptying: beer duck that arrived with a napkin over her in full swing. Odd and I...
Not the most beautiful place in the city (which for an authentic Chinese place can be a good sign) or the fastest (which again means a good sign...
I would give this restaurant 3.25 stars. I have dined here a few times over the years, and my recent experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The place could use some sprucing up as it appeared a bit run down and could have been cleaner. The leek pancake was delicious, as were the leek and shrimp egg dumplings. However, the Chinese broccoli in Oyster sauce was too salty. The calamari dish was odd, as it seemed to be boiled in pork fat. We also tried the vegetable dumplings, which were tasty, along with a seafood and tofu soup that was enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend trying the dumpling entrees at this restaurant.
We were here because it was BYO and one of the few places we could find open on Easter Monday. The interior is basic (plastic tablecloths, no frills serve goods, something untidy as per any family restaurant you would find in Asia). Service was fast and pleasant... to do everything in front of the house by the young lady. Portions were generous (15 dumplings per serving), huge dish of delicious Calamari we could not finish. Food is simple, but fresh and good. A large and relatively cheap food for the family, especially if you pay with $50 a bottle for basic house wine.
