Lucharitos Melville

Came here on a Sunday evening, around 7 P.M. Decorated and lit nicely for Christmas with pretty trees. Metal chairs seem cold for a winter night, but overall atmosphere is enticing. Vibe fell somewhere between Key West and Miami. Was contemplating getting a drink, but at $13 plus, decided against...especially on a Sunday night. On our way back home after getting supplies, we decided to stop by Lucharitos in Melville for some tacos. The atmosphere was brightly lit and had a festive decor. The staff was friendly and checked in on us often. For food, we tried the Nacho Man ground beef taco. The toppings were generous, but some of the tortilla chips were stale. We rated it 3 out of 5. We also tried the Al Pastor Tacos Marinated Pork with Pineapple. The pork had good flavor but was a bit dry. Again, we gave it a rating of 3 out of 5. Lastly, we tried the Carne Asada Taco steak taco, which was really tasty.

This is the first time we eat here. We ordered Frida?s salad bowl with grilled chicken. There?s a lot of water on the bottom of salad bowl to the point that it looks like soup in a bowl. We asked if this is normal. The waiter checked other veggies in the kitchen and he told us that the cook just took the vegetables right out of a bucket and water is dripping from it so it?s fresh. I rarely write a review before. However, this salad looks really gross and soggy and it does not

Came here for lunch on a Saturday and had no problem getting a table for two, the place was pretty much empty. I got the pork burrito bowl which is a great sized portion for a fantastic price. The rest of the menu also sounded delicious and definitely has me itching to come back for more. The staff was very friendly and we got served in what felt like record time. Plenty of parking nearby with all the shops nearby.

I?ve been putting off coming here since they opened due to all the negative reviews and I am totally regretting it now after today?s visit. But shoutout to our server, Michael, who was so nice and helpful. He recommended the mango habanero wings which he said were his favorite and I?m so glad we listened and got those because they were some of my most favorite wings.
