Bidra med feedbackGreat location, recommend, food was great The only suggestion I could make is to have staff on the floor cleaning up and attending to customers.
After years of avoidance after the food dipped to a substandard level, we ventured to the new Prince of Wales restaurant, Cafe Prince.
I have just eaten one of the most mouth watering steaks I have had in a long time at Two Mules Mex-Americana restaurant inside The Prince of Wales Hotel, Newcastle. The "John Wayne" is a 300g strip loin, which I had with salad, rice and beans. Honestly, Mexican has never been my favourite due to a couple of bad experiences, but this dish was flavourful and beautifully spiced (I like a bit of heat - and this was great without being over done). A shout out to the staff as well, for their excellent service. Will absolutely be back!
After indulging in at least 6 other hotels in the last few weeks it was the Prince's turn. Typical of most hotels in the area, the old Prince had its share of a few craft beers on tap, mixed with the old faithfuls. It was a bit hard trying to find a bar that wasn't that noisy where we could talk. Looking at the food menu, it was mostly Mexican based or should i say mexican named normal pub food. I opted for the everyday schnitzel. I figured if you can't make a decent schnitzy then you may as well give up !!We were taken to the last table in the restaurant, which is cool but it had to be the noisiest dining room in Newie... you couldn't hear yourself think !It was only a bunch of kids having fun but wow, after a few drinks they were screaming and not taking to each other...After fifteen minutes of this, we had to move... we asked our waiter if we could go to another table, so he sent us upstairs to another room.it was the pubs function room, unused dark and cold but it was a space that we could at least talk to each other...Then the food started to arrive, well what can i say, we were all a bit hungry by now so we gave it a go, No way i could eat much of the old dead chook and for the poor old chips, well if i had have made those at home, i would have thrown them out... we took a bite or two and ended up back in the bar for a beer... i would not rush back there in a hurry..
Mexican theme and menu. Nice decor, good service, good Margherita. The food was " unique" , a scary version of Ozmex which was dreadful!! I had a beef burrito, came tightly wrapped full of sludge with a few strips of beef and several soggy potato fries in there!!!! It didn't have anything recognisable in it and although it was edible ( desperately needed salt or chilli) it gave me indigestion for 24 hours and counting. I only ate it because I was hungry. Never again!!!!
