El Poblano Mexican - Merrillville

BEST Birrias around. I tried El Poblanos ' Birria tacos and then Santo tacos ' (In Valpo) birria tacos the next day to see if I could get the same experience 'cause I live kinda far from El Poblano 's, and LET.ME.TELL.YOU.....El poblano 's birria tacos blew the competition out of the water. The shells were stiffer and the consome was wayyyyy tastier. Santo tacos consome tasted overwhelmingly of beef and nothing else and the shells were so soggy it all fell apart the second I picked it up, but El poblanos, boy....whew! I crave it. It 's solid, the second you lift that beautiful, cheesy, meat packed slice of heaven. Oh lawd I 'm drooling again..I wants it ??? Why I gotta live so far? ???

Everything was fresh, hot, and just right. I even have a few leftovers to take home for tomorrow—woohoo! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention: if you dive in, you get complimentary chips and salsa.

We visited El Poblano for the first time and were thoroughly impressed. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. The service was outstanding as well; the staff frequently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. If you're in Merrillville and searching for a fantastic Mexican restaurant, look no further—this is it! You won't regret stopping by.

I have heard so much about Birria tacos and wanted to try them. Decided on El Poblano, the reviews were amazing and the pictures looked even better. The price for Birria tacos is rather expensive but I must say it is so worth it! For the price you get 4 loaded tacos and the dipping sauce. They are good each and every time I have had them and trust me I have had them quite a bit. Excellent service as well, they are very nice here.

This local Mexican restaurant serves up some truly delicious dishes and hits the mark with many of their menu options! While we didn't try the Birria tacos this visit, I've heard they're outstanding! The tacos we ordered were great, though I wasn't a fan of the ground beef in one of them. Other than that, everything we had was tasty!
