El Salto - Merrillville

Pretty nice place for mexican food, not fully authentic but pretty darn close! Staff is very friendly and service is really good. The food is very tasty and served in a timely fashion. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a good time with good food while drinking some flavored margaritas(or beer, if you’re like me) The menu is fairly priced.

It's ok. Food overrated. I've had better and authentic Mexican food. Just like a Pepe's restaurant!

I can't give 5 stars because bad service for drinks charged for chips. waiter mixed our diet not diet drinks, corrected drinks never checked refills until asking if ready for check. also get charged for chips after 1st basket on table. that is a pet peeve about charging extra when table of 4 will normally spend 10-15 per plate. hate get seriously nausea on artificial sweetener in diet drinks. I know easy mistakes happen. he correct drinks we order. he never checked on us for taste of food or anything. my husband kept looking for him he never came out from back of restaurant. it was over 30 min. I know cause show on tv started ended. another started 1st commercial before he came out to give tickets. I'll find another mexican restaurant there's alot to choose from.

Good food in a timely fashion...Service could just use more help...they seemed overwhelmed

I moved from IL to IN, and was looking for a new Mexican restaurant. After trying a few (most of them not serving alcohols), I guess I found it!! Food and drinks are to my taste, and they will for sure see me back.
