Longhorn Steakhouse - Merrillville

I wish the stars were out of 10, because that's what my past experience was. My girlfriend's birthday was last Friday, and she wanted to have LongHorn for her birthday lunch/dinner. We had been to this location a few times before, and never had Darnell as our waiter. We had him this time around and he is EASILY the BEST person to have. He had such an upbeat and bubbly personality and was serving so many other tables and booths, in the general area of our booth. I gave him what I hope was a very generous tip, but he deserves all the money that LongHorn can give. Fantastic service! And yes, the food is great. It has yet to be a bad experience with food and service.

Food was great the waiter was perfect his name is Jeffrey. Restaurant was clean and so was the restrooms. Nice atmosphere.

Service is great and food is always delicious! I’m obsessed with their sweet potatoes and the steak always comes out perfect.

Visited what used to be one of my favorite chain restaurants was absolutely underwhelmed. The food quality has drastically declined. My steak was over charred flavorless. So much so that I had indigestion thereafter. They are irresponsibly sending out these steaks seeing how the soot or charr is actually a carcinogen. I was at the Portage location for its pilot when they first opened in the region. They lost me today.

It was a great visit. Food was good and cooked correctly. Atmosphere got 3 starts only cause we were 1 of the first people there when they opened. Good service.
