Bidra med feedbackService was on the slow side. Also noticed the fries weren't fresh and hot. The ribs I ordered were good though.
The food was delicious. The service was awful. It took 20 minutes just to get water, even though we had three different servers come to our table.
Always good food, had a great meal on Fathers Day, having reservations meant 5 minute wait while walk-ins were 90 minutes.
I just had to share my out of the norm experience tonight. I was seated in Gabby 's section, whom I learned had only been with Saltgrass for 2 weeks. I have been coming to Midland for work for the last 4 years and I was completely BLOWN AWAY by the excellent service Gabby gave me. She checked all of the boxes...drink, appetizer, highlighted the point that the bread was freshly baked out of the oven, gave me a few additional minutes to order, asked another team member if I could sub my side, and checked on me no less than 8 times as I enjoyed my dinner alone. I normally wouldn 't review a restaurant chain that I can find all over Texas but Gabby set the bar for excellent service, hands down. My food was prepared perfectly and was delicious. The hostess was dusting and wiping down the entry door glass in between customers, and all of the team were cleaning and bussing tables promptly. KUDOS to the management, the staff, and most importantly Gabby for such a top notch experience. I had to call over the Manager on duty to tell him what a great job Gabby did and how impressed I was with the operations of the restaurant. And this was peak dinner hour! I told Gabby I have 60 employees on my team and I would have them ask for her when they dined at Saltgrass. GABBY YOU ARE A GEM IN MIDLAND!!! Thank you for your service tonight. I very much appreciated YOU.
Saltgrass was never on our list of restaurants to try. In fact, we had never heard of it before that is until we found ourselves wandering around Midland, TX while trying to figure out where exactly our hotel was LOL. When we spotted Saltgrass, we then realized that we were really hungry so we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated, then given menus. When our server came to our table, the first thing she asked is if we had Landry rewards and that's how we found out it was part of their group. Later on, I looked up Saltgrass and found out it was Houston based. Most of the Saltgrass restaurants are located in TX. FWIW, the closest one to where we live is in Knightdale, NC. To drink, I had sweet tea which turned out to be weak with little flavor. My husband had water. We both ordered the 6 oz. Maureen's filet. It comes with two sides. I had a salad with honey mustard dressing plus a baked potato. My husband had a salad with ranch plus he threw in an extra side having broccoli and a baked potato. Each table gets a small loaf of bread. I found the honey mustard dressing to be too tangy. We both liked the bread which seemed to taste like there were raisins in it. Yet, we made sure to not each much so as to have room for the main course. Their menu reminded us of Outback's yet Salt Grass is a bit more upscale. The filets were perfectly cooked and very tender. The sides were properly prepared. We were quite full and had no room for dessert. Overall, service was excellent. If we ever are lost and wandering around somewhere and come across another Salt Grass, we wouldn't hesitate to have dinner there again :
