Pan Ghea - Milan

Ho molto apprezzato l'esperienza in questo ristorante. Mi piacerebbe ripeterla; se non fosse per il prezzo un po' altino.

Being sponsored as one of the best vegan places in Milan I had to give it a try. The area right near the Navigli, therefore very busy, even if located on a road that is a bit isolated at night. I liked the menu served that day (I didn't know it was set daily) and the dishes were non-trivial, articulated and well studied. I was not disappointed

I really wanted to like this place. We came on a Saturday so it was the fixed menu. The appetizer with hummus and green sauce was good, but from there the quality of each dish went down. The next dish was lasagna with potatoes paired with gnocchi. The gnocchi was ok, but the tomato sauce in the lasagna tasted like watery sugary cheap sauce. Also I didn’t understand why there were potatoes in it. However, my partner enjoyed the lasagna. The next dish was a potato egg roll paired with roasted potatoes and meatballs, separated by a drizzle of sweet chili sauce. I like the meatballs, but with the mix of the rest of the dish I couldn’t palate it. Finally, the desert, oh the desert. It was a tiny chocolate cake that tasted worse than a box mix. I had a bite and just wanted to leave after hearing an hour plus of depressing music by Annia Balad(? . Milan is definitely lacking vegan restaurants, so I hate to give a bad review, but overall this just wasn’t good.

I went to Panghea for lunch on a Sunday since I was hanging in the Navigli area. At the weekend, they offered a fixed menu which, in my case, was also gluten-free. I had a delicious starter, gnocchi cacio e pepe and soy ragout spaghetti for primo, an eggplant cotoletta with roasted mushrooms and zucchini and a delicious cake.
