Bidra med feedbackWe were in Milan for 8 days but for various reasons were struggling to get a decent meal public holidays, Sunday, one very poor restaurant. Then we had our booking at Tano Passami L'olio. What a pleasure this was. As a general point, I noticed the attention to every detail and the care that goes into this dining experience. Now the food of course is exceptional. You can see the photos I don't need to elaborate. Some of these things we didn't even expect and didn't pay for. They were a consequence of Tano's generosity. The service was exemplary. The reason for this is that the service was led by Tano. He personally supervised the service of his customers, guiding his waiters on every small detail. Given that I have an incompatibility with alcohol due to medicine, I have to watch how much I drink. Not a problem. Tano opened a bottle of his own wine (a Pinot Noir Riserva) to serve us two glasses. How much did all this cost? I can't remember. I don't think it was the cheapest place we dined but look you cannot buy a memory/experience like this. So much effort and skill goes into achieving this unique experience. So I would say, put the calculator away and get on with enjoying your life.
We booked this restaurant based on its lunch degustation menu, which it says on their website is available at a reasonable 35 euros for 3 dishes. Unfortunately, when we arrived they told us that because of COVID they were instead only serving a reduced dinner menu (with dinner prices! . As the main are around 50 euros this was quite a shock to us, and something I think they should make clear on their website. In the end the meal was ok, but seemed vastly overpriced. We were also rather disappointed by the dessert, which was 20 euros and was a largely forgettable dish of stewed apples (it was a deconstructed tarte tatin . Also just a pet peeve of mine, but why is it the menu for women doesn't have any prices? God forbid we women bother our delicate minds with the complexities of mathematics. It's really an antiquated practice.
Somewhat disappointed . My main course was served cold. And the ravioli were by any measure lacking in salt . Nonetheless most dishes were worth the try . Execution could have been a notch or two better
We were a group of travelers. We ordered a 4 course menue, which was 120 euros. The only dish I liked was last meat main. The wine proposed to us was never explained to us, we were told just the name of grape. I would expect much more of introduction from Michelin starred restaurants. When on the wine switched from white to red (without asking us), the bottle was just shared by glass. To my question: could you please explain the wine, the waiter told that he is not explaining the wine he just explains the dishes. Also in the beginning of the dinner we indicated that there were 2 pregnant ladies, not 3 as mentioned in the beginning, but despite 3 repetitions, I got all the menue well cooked, not raw, despite mentioning to the chef 3 times , that we need only 2 menues for pregnant ladies. Overall, very unpleasant experience in terms of service. We tried to laugh at first, but in the end it became even rude to ignore our request.
Excellent personal service by the chef himself. Lamb and pork dishes were outstanding. Wine recommendation was perfect. Would go again if we lived in Milan.
