Bidra med feedbackWe took the CityCat to this restaurant for Sunday lunch -- advertised as OPEN on the website and on it's VERY own front door -- BUT it was VERY much closed. Huge WASTE of TIME and travel expense. Whassup w/ that?
Excellent Service. We began our meal with a celebratory glass of champagne. all chose the baked barramundi in a macadamia nut crust for our main course ($29.50 each) and selected two of us opted for two side vegetable dishes each ($8.00 each side): broccolina with pine nuts, thin French fries, golden potatoes and some Greek salad, otherwise the dish comes with next to nothing. Seems to be a trend. Prices are high. The two first choices of wine were not available so the waiter knocked off the price for the third selection. The wine chosen was a very good Australian sauvignon blanc. The small desserts: crème caramel and chocolate crème brulee ($12.50 each). I personally thought the prices were extreme high. But wages are very high in Australia. The restaurant was quite busy. We did ask to have the air conditioning turned down; it was too cold. All in all, a good dinner.
We went to a 60th birthday party here. Started with drinks and snacks upstairs followed by lunch downstairs. All the food was wonderful. The service was excellent.
Wilson's handled a large party of over 80 people celebrating a 60th birthday with ease. The staff did not seem overwhelmed as they continuously brought out share platters of delicious food, ensuring that everyone had a wonderful time.
I made a reservation a week in advance, but when we arrived at 7:00pm, we were told that there was no booking under our name. We did not feel welcomed and the manager suggested that we may have made a reservation at a different restaurant. We were initially seated at the bar but were not allowed to order drinks. Eventually, we were given a table, but the staff was not allowed to serve us and the "manager" did not provide professional table service. Our orders were taken and while the appetizers arrived promptly, it took over two and a half hours for our main courses to be served. We had to inquire about the delay. A new head waiter took over our table after 9:30pm and apologized for the wait, quickly bringing us our food. Unfortunately, one member of our party did not receive their appetizer and had to wait until 9:40pm to eat anything at all. Despite this, the wine was excellent, the food was of good quality, but the service was disappointing. Overall, it was not an experience we would want to repeat.
