Smarts - Milton Keynes

I will definitely return to this restaurant because the food is amazing! They have a wide variety of fresh chips and other dishes. I especially loved the thunder kebabs, they were delicious and I couldn't get enough of them.

The people are attractive, the food is delicious, no complaints here!

My experience at this restaurant was not great. I ordered a chicken kebab, which was disappointing as the chicken was fatty and undercooked. However, my partner ordered fish and chips and had nothing but good things to say about it. I regret not getting the fish and chips myself.

I have had good experiences with this restaurant before, so it was my first choice for fish and chips today. However, I was extremely disappointed with the quality. The price has gone up by £2 or more, and the chips were hard and greasy. The large cod was encased in a chewy batter, making it difficult to eat. After eating, I felt nauseous and regretted my decision. Overall, I was left with a bad impression and felt like I had just eaten at a dirty establishment. I hate to say it, but it's the truth.

I usually indulge in a doner kebab from Smarts as a local "guilty pleasure," about 6 or 7 times a year depending on how guilty I'm feeling. I find the service a bit curt, or possibly just very efficient, at the counter, but I always get exactly what I ordered. I'm not a fan of the fact that the doner meat is prepared behind closed doors in the back of the shop and then handed over from under the heat lamp with a friendly farewell, but so far all of my orders have been really good. My only issue is that the chili sauce, which I always request, is delicious but can sometimes be so spicy that the lingering heat is too much for my fingers or, more likely, causes a "burn" later. These kebabs are fantastic, but just be cautious with the chili sauce!
