Canal Street Cafe - Milwaukee

The food at this restaurant was awful! The breading on the chicken and fish was extremely greasy and thick, making it inedible. I would recommend avoiding this place.

The food at Locavore was excellent! They served gourmet dishes that were freshly cooked, and the wait staff was helpful and attentive. I particularly enjoyed the trout with black olive puree and baked radishes, while my wife had the pork dish with a baked and stuffed pastry. The meat was tender and flavorful. The dessert menu had delicious options, although it was brief. It's disappointing to hear that Locavore will be closing after the 4th of July weekend and changing its theme to a more homey style of food. The restaurant reminded me of Artist's Pointe in Disney World. I would definitely dine there again without hesitation. It's sad to see it go.

We once again had brunch here, because it 's so darn good! I had my Farmer 's Breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes), and the husband had Biscuits Gravy (with two eggs and bacon). The food, the service, and the Irish coffee were all delicious!

My friends and I visited the restaurant on a Friday evening and it was gradually getting busier. We decided to try the popular Fish Fry plate from the appetizer menu. The brocollini perch combo was excellent! We also enjoyed the unique shiitake garlic soup and the Brussel sprout salad, which was a new and delicious combination for me.
