Hostal Galan - Minas de Riotinto

Restaurante Galan offers a good lunch menu at €12 pp for 3 courses and a drink. The service is prompt and friendly. There is a choice of seating inside or the terrace. The food is average which was disappointing but overall good value for money.

Was recommended this restaurant as a restaurant suitable for a large group on a coach tour to the Rio Tinto mines. Very slow service. Some of our group had finished their desserts whilst others were waiting for their main meals. Food was slow to be served even at one table. Whilst food is of a good quality, better coordination between kitchen and waiting staff could be better. Was looking forward to eating here after reading reviews, but our experience didn’t meet our expectations.

Minas de Riotinto is a extremely interesting place, but if you want to have a decent lunch or dinner you don't have much choice. Galan however will do. You can sit outside or inside, just around the corner of the mining museum. They offer well prepared spanish dishes. When ordering we did not spend much attention to the wine, and were disappointed, so you should discuss this beforehand. As usual in Spain you can arrive for lunch until say 4 pm, dinner is from 8 pm.
