On the busiest night of the year, New Year's Eve, the staff at Indian Ocean Brewing went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Our experience was truly made special by Nelmarie, who stood out for her outstanding customer service. Despite the hectic night, Nelmarie consistently provided personalized service and recognition, something that I have never experienced before. I'm sure that whatever Nelmarie is being paid is not enough for her exceptional service. Overall, I would give 5 stars to all the staff and 6 stars to Nelmarie.

I am a regular patron of the Indian Ocean Brewery and have always had a positive experience with the food and ambiance. However, the customer service was lacking during my visit last night. I dined with a few friends for a farewell dinner and encountered a disappointing customer service incident. We initially informed the waitress that we wanted to change tables after placing our food order. Although the waitress approved our request, she failed to communicate this change to her colleague in the kitchen (a young girl wearing glasses and speaking with a British accent). As a result, the kitchen staff member struggled to locate us and became confrontational upon discovering the table switch. Despite explaining that we had received permission and a new table number from the waitress, the kitchen staff member was uncooperative, repeatedly insisting that we should not change tables until the food was served. The manner in which she handled the situation was arrogant and defensive, offering a lecture filled with unnecessary repetition of the word "pointers." As a veteran of the customer service industry for over 20 years, I found this level of service to be quite poor and unacceptable. I believe the staff member in question could benefit from additional training or perhaps consider a different career path. I am open to constructive feedback, but not when I have followed the proper procedures and certainly not in such a condescending manner. I expect better treatment when dining out and refuse to pay for a dining experience that includes being lectured by staff members.
