Moeraki Tavern

It's definitely the best dining experience so far in NZ. Came after lunch hours but they still still offer the lunch menu. The place is cozy with nice music, free wifi, nice fireplace and wonderful view. The place is very neat and warm, the hospitality is great, the toilet is very clean. They have like 10 different sauces that we can have for free, from 5 different hot sauces to aioli, tomato, mayo, etc, and the sauces are good quality sauces. The food has good quality. The chips are cook perfectly in clean oil, the best cooked chips so far in NZ. Ordered the fisherman's baskets and all comes with different kind of batter, and cooked perfectly. The seafood was fresh, not fishy. The highlight was the springroll/twister prawn, so unique. The salad has so many different vegies and has refreshing dressing. Kudos to the Cook! The locals must be lucky to have a good tavern in town!

Brilliant! Everything you hoped for in a tavern- The only thing that was missing was a few pirates and a good brawl. But maybe they don’t go out on Wednesdays? Also great pub food and lovely service. Totally cool about me and mum sharing a large meal and brought out extra plates.

Really friendly staffs! Really fast service, fantastic food! Good ambiance~ And we order 4 dishes only more than one hundred dollars! Really cheap! The food was really big size!

My second visit and still love the food here, especially the seafood chowder. This restaurant has outdoor and indoor sitting. The fish and chips are nicely done the fish was fresh.

We ordered Steak sandwich and seafood chowder. They were very delicious good portion too. Our orders were taken by this very nice lady. And the waiter was very friendly. The same lady came outside where we sitting (there are outdoor seats too) to ask how we were doing. Very nice and welcoming!
