Rio's Fish 'N' Chips - Monash

Excellent fish and chips at Rio's, generous serves and reasonably priced. New owners have continued the quality of food and service. Take away only.

My usual fish and chip shop was closed on a Monday so I tried Rio, which will be my regular shop from now on. The young owner, who said he took over the shop about 4 months ago, was very friendly. The shop was spotless. Fish was kept in a fridge out the back so sadly the huge refrigeration unit in the shop was empty (missed opportunity here methinks). I ordered 3 pieces of fish and 4 potato cakes for $22. They were yummy, golden and crispy. Highly recommended. 10/10 from me.

This local fish and chip shop is fantastic. The fish is delicious and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and they also serve excellent hamburgers.

I recently had the best fish and chips in quite some time at this restaurant. The fish was white, fluffy and delicious, while the chips were perfectly cooked with a nice golden color, indicating the use of fresh vegetable oil. I also tried a hamburger with all the toppings, which was good, but not as impressive as the fish and chips. The restaurant was very clean and appeared to be hygienic. The prices were very reasonable. Even though I am not from the area, I would be willing to make a special trip back if they continue to maintain this high standard of food.

I waited in line with the workers and ordered the grilled fish. It was affordable, tasty, generous in portion, and served with a slice of lemon.
