The interior is further enhanced by artwork from a local artist, featuring various musicians with their instruments. Speaking of design, I know some people in construction and architecture who would love to come in just to admire the stunning tin ceilings. They are in excellent condition, beautifully installed, and painted in a luxurious gold that pairs perfectly with the rich red walls. Truly exceptional! Now, onto the food: it was fantastic. My meal was well-prepared, fresh, hot, and flavorful. I enjoyed short ribs, grilled beans baked with some kind of chili meat—delicious!—and greens. I could have used a little vinegar or hot sauce to enhance the flavor, which they had available, but I didn’t want to go overboard this time. The portion was generous enough, and I didn’t feel overwhelmed. The presentation was a bit unusual—I received my meal in a foam container with plastic utensils—but that didn’t detract from the experience. It was a great spot for lunch, and I will definitely return for dinner. Just a heads-up: get there early or be flexible with your order because they sometimes run out of dishes. For instance, they were out of cornbread when I visited, and while it wasn’t a huge disappointment for me, I could sense the disappointment of another diner who learned there were no green beans left. No green beans? It was fine. I learned my lesson and will make sure to place my order earlier next time. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, whether at the office, at home, or while strolling through the charming streets of downtown Monroe, Michigan.

Absolutely delicious! The corn on the cob, crab legs, shrimp, and potatoes were all drenched in an incredible Cajun butter sauce. It’s food heaven! Highly recommended!
