Krazy Kat's At The Inn At Montchanin Village

I was here on Sunday and it was wonderful. So we decided to go to dinner. absolutely great. we have the blue cheese chicken breast, my fiance had scallops and my fiance mother had the roasted escape. everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! dinner for three with cocktails was about $60 per person. very reasonable for such high quality food and service. we will be here regularly!

We enjoyed a terrific dinner at Crazy Kat 's on a weeknight. The restaurant was not crowded a few other tables were occupied when we arrived) and the very welcoming hostess seated us a nice table close enough to the fireplace for some warming ambiance. The setting was very pleasing and the Cat Dog portraits were so unique and surprising. We all loved the room. Our server did a great job of informing about the special drinks and menu selections of the day. All 3 of us enjoyed our starters, Crab Bisque, Mushroom Soup and a Berry with Burrata spinach salad. The bread and herb butter was much appreciated. The cocktails and wine were very good but it took quite a bit of time for our entrees to appear about 45 minutes) . We thought that was a bit too long, considering the restaurant was almost empty by the time the food came to our table. However, the food was prepared expertly and each entree was delicious. My duck breast with candied walnuts, cherry glaze over a white chocolate Polenta was fabulous. The Lobster Tail, mashed potatoes, broccoli with butter sauce was enjoyed with gusto, and the petite grilled Lamb Chops was presented magnificently and devoured immediately. Every dish was so delicious, we decided to share two dessert and have Irish coffee . The desserts were not very big so we really should have ordered one for each of us) but were also delicious. I preferred the Raspberry Chocolate Mousse to the Pumpkin Tart, but both were presented nicely with fresh berries. The Irish coffee was a perfect way to end a perfect meal. This is definitely a high end restaurant with tip drinks it was about $100. per person) but a gourmet experience, better than any other establishment I have experienced in the Wilmington area. Parking is not available directly attached to the restaurant building within this resort/spa , but it is an easy walk from Guest Registration. There are 3 handicapped parking spaces directly across the lane from the restaurant.

Covid has taken a major toll on this restaurant. Having had New Years dinner here on previous occasions, we came with high expectations on what the evening would be like. Unfortunately those high hopes were quickly dashed The restaurant was nearly empty and therefore lacked the festive atmosphere we had found on prior visits. The food was over salted, the lobster tails were over cooked, the soup lacked flavor and the desserts were less then good.

We had an excellent meal last night. The service was just right, the drink and order portions were significant and the food was very tasty. Highlights were the short rib mac cheese, rack of lamb, and cream Brulé. We come here often for the ambience, service and great menu options. Happy new year!

Krazy Kat's is very cute with fun animal paintings. The bar is cool but in a high-traffic area. The dining area is roomy and cozy. The food is good but pricy. I'll go back for sure.
