Silky Smooth - Montebello

I can see how people enjoy this place. They serve ice cream in a Hong Kong style waffle cone and they add lots and lots of topping. However, this just wasn't for me. I felt sugar high after a few bites and I couldn't take any more. I prefer ice cream with no toppings and no fuzz.

Beautiful tasting gelato with a big range of flavours. There was a line up but it was worth the 10 minute wait. Excellent service!

Dessert and board games. What could go wrong? A lot. Most of the tables are sticky and the condition of the board games isn't much better. I do enjoy hanging out here because the ice cream is bomb, but the board games are usually in bad shape. Either missing pieces or jumbled up in the box. Totally not the fault of the establishment, it's more on the patrons who use them.

I finally decided to try this place out since I was in the area. I treated my mom, aunt, and grandma, who all loved it. The ice cream shop has a really cool vibe, with a big lighted tree in the middle giving it a rustic feel. You can also play board games with friends while enjoying your dessert. The service was good, although I felt bad for the girl who was the only one working. The desserts require a lot of labor, so I encouraged her to take her time. I was torn between two choices on the menu and ended up going with the easier one, Cinnamon Swirl, since I was driving. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious, with vanilla ice cream, caramel drizzle, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch topping. The shake was on the sweet side but very enjoyable. Even the metal straw was a nice touch. I recommend they have more staff working during the weekends due to the labor-intensive dessert-making process. I look forward to returning to try the Magical Charm dessert.

The ice cream is very delicious, not too sweet but sweet enough to satisfy your cravings. They have a wide selection of games as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because some of the games had missing pieces, but that's not really their fault. They also have $2 waffle taco ice creams on Tuesdays, which is a great deal!
