High's - Monterey

What a great place to eat socialize with my fellow rocketeers! Our club, Valley Aerospace Team #687, meet eat here after launches at Jack Mountain Village every month when scheduled. Check our website to see this! The food is great, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable. Environment is extremely clean and very family oriented. I eat out every day. You would be hard pressed to find better food anywhere including Staunton Harrisonburg.

High's Restaurant has been an 84 year institution in small town America. You would not expect the exceptional quality of food being served coming from a small town restaurant. That is why I eat there almost every day. There is a lot of jealousy about High's success from owners and their relatives of other restaurants trying to gain High's market share. Here is the bottom line:

Fantastic service! Delicious food! Wonderful 50s vibe! I can't express how much I love this restaurant in Monterey! I'm hoping to move to the area when I retire and become a regular customer!

My family and I used to frequent High’s, but ever since the new chef took over, his behavior has been disappointing. He constantly belittles and criticizes other local restaurants, businesses, and community members. Despite my previous fondness for this place, I cannot support such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. He has even resorted to cursing at other businesses on public social media. I would never want my children to witness such conduct, and I can’t bring myself to spend my money at a restaurant that has fallen so far from its former greatness.
