Bidra med feedbackThis Chili's location is quite good. It has been recently renovated and offers a pleasant family-friendly atmosphere. The service is typically satisfactory, especially considering the value of their 2 for $22.00 deal. I enjoy the lunch specials, and a few of the entrees have become my favorites. The fajitas are consistently delicious, and the honey chipotle chicken crispers are fantastic. I tend to avoid the steaks and ribs, as the steaks are likely tenderized, and the ribs often lack meat. Overall, this location is excellent; although I've encountered some issues over the years, they have always handled them well. While Montgomeryville has an abundance of dining options, if you're in the mood for Chili's, this is a solid choice.
I saw a sign on the door about signing up for the email club to get complimentary chips and salsa, so I did that. The chips and salsa were decent—I consider myself a bit of a salsa connoisseur—and had a nice kick with good flavor. I ordered chicken enchiladas but without chicken and swapped the sour cream for jalapeños. They were actually pretty tasty, but they came with NO SAUCE?! I ended up pouring the remaining salsa on top, which made them great, but seriously, they tried to serve me dry enchiladas! Also, there wasn’t a vegetarian enchilada option, so I still paid for the meat that wasn’t in my meal—definitely a pet peeve of mine. My boyfriend was happy with his "pick two" combo of chicken and a half rack of ribs, which came with corn on the cob, fries, and a slice of Texas toast. We shared the chocolate lava cake for dessert, which was fantastic. I really need to find out what the deal is with Taco Tuesday, though—I can’t be dining at a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t celebrate such an important weekly tradition!
Bottom Line: Chili's isn’t anything special, but the service here was fantastic. People keep insisting I go to Chili's, and honestly, I could happily live the rest of my life without eating there again. The atmosphere feels like fast food with a dash of cheesiness, and the food is mediocre and overly processed. However, I have to commend the service during my visit this past weekend. We were warmly greeted right away, the bartender happily changed the TV channel for us, and our waitress was friendly and attentive, despite the fact that we only ordered chips, salsa, and drinks. Plus, we were conveniently able to walk back to our hotel at the Courtyard right next to the restaurant, which was a nice bonus.
Gotta say I was really disappointed in my visit to this Chili 's. We were seated right away, which was about the only bright spot of the meal. My son wanted to order one of the specialty drinks on the kids menu, but was told they no longer sell the one he asked for, but he would still order the blue one if he wanted. About 10 minutes later, our waiter comes back and says they no longer sell any of those specialty drinks, so he would have to pick something else. My Dad and I shared the $20 meal for 2 and picked the fried cheese as our appetizer. Hey guess what? Turns out they don 't sell that anymore either! I just looked at our waiter and said So is there anything on this menu that you do still make? Our waiter was simply not good. It wasn 't his fault that items on the menu are no longer available, but it was his fault that I continually had to ask for refills and I was frustrated that we tried to flag him down several times only to be ignored. On top of that, the food was generally not good. My Mom had the shrimp tacos and there was so much pico de gallo sauce on it, that it was hard for her to eat and the tortilla just became soggy. I did not care for the taste of my bacon chicken quesadilla--several pieces had little in it and the tortilla was too crisp for my liking. Haven 't really enjoyed my last couple of visits to Chili 's (not all at this location), but this last visit may simply end up being my last.
I brought my 2 daughters to Chili's North Wales on 5/16 about 8pm and could not get seated. We walked in and nobody was waiting in front of us. We waited close to 10 minutes when someone finally rushed by us and said they would be with us soon and had to clean a table for us. I'm not sure why they said that as it looked like there were plenty of empty clean tables. We waited almost 10 more minutes and saw the same person on a phone in the back of the restaurant near the bar. After feeing like we were completely ignored we left disgusted and went across the street to Smokey Bones and were seated right away. I don't think we'll be back, there are way too many great choices in the area that actually care about their customers.
