Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant has firmly chosen its camp as a fine dining spot. The indoor patio is very pleasant in the summer and all the hallmarks of the posh restaurant are on display. The service is suave and professional. My friend found the beef cooked "sous vide" a memorable dish. To me, most dishes were no more than good, despite their complexity. If you go only for the food, this very pricey restaurant is too expensive. If you want a nice meal in sophisticated surroundings and do not mind the very hefty price tag (easily 100€ per person with water, wine and coffee) then this should be on your list.
La maison de la Lozère is a gastronomic landmark in Montpellier. The menues are basically a haute couture take on tradition. You'll find fresh local products presented in deliciously daring moves, mixes and twists. The aligot servings are generous and unlimited, magically knitted into your plate while every single dish takes your taste buds (and brain) on a journey through time and space. We simply love to go there. However our last visit was quite a disappointment as far as the table waiting is concerned. The waiters looked like they had stayed up all night and had put on last week clothes. The butler treated our wine like it was a bottle of Orangina. Only the lady waitresss and the sommelier seemed to care about being professional that night. Since the evening was quite warm we could enjoy the inner yard (the architecture of the building is absolutely fantastic) but the air was quite still in this limited space and when some people started smoking at one table most of the customers showed their annoyance but nothing was done to ask the smokers to put out their smokes nor did they want to show any respect to people around them (please go and show how vulgarly wealthy you are somewhere else, redneck). That said, the menues (quite dear) are worth every single penny.
Wonderful dinner in a real gastronomic restaurant, situated in a 17th century courtyard. Interesting menu, relatively expensive but worth it. Portions are exquisite but on the small side, but no worries, the signature 'aligot' ( mashed potatoes with cheese mix, unbelievably good) fills you up real quick. Very nice service, fitting with a high end restaurant like this. Had a great evening!
One of the best dinners I have ever had. Excellent cheese and wine offer! Very kind staff. Will definitely return!
I usually avoid eating beef in France due to many bad experiences but I took the chance here and it was excellent, tasty and tender. In fact the whole evening was very enjoyable: the staff (especially Matilde) were great, the courtyard setting beautiful. Expensive though.
